


Eskasoni’s Indian Registry Administration have applications available at the front desk of the Band Office for the New Secure Indian Status Cards. Please note that you will need an original Provincial or State Birth Certificate Long or Short Form, and two IDS to apply for the New Secure Indian Status Cards coming out possibly spring April 2009. US Border is closing June 1 2009, we were told that children 15 years and under may cross the Border with a Birth Certificate, this is Land and Sea, Those who already have passports are asked to wait to apply for the new cards, priority is those who are going to Maine to Work this summer.
Cards go to the Printing Center and May not arrive for two weeks. When you receive your card in the mail or possibly by pick up at the Band Office, you will be required to activate your card by calling 1 800 number and enter your pin number which you chose at the time of your application. Please do not forget your pin number; The IRA will have your pin number in your file. However, it is best to keep it in a safe place until you receive your card, as all IRAs will be busy with the new cards. Forms for birth certificates are available in the front lobby.
Applications will also require two I.D's, please view applications to make sure that you have all the necessary documentation for processing. New Secure Indian Status Cards will take up to two weeks for processing.
